Unfortunately many people working in I.T. develop a tendency to preach the solutions they learn and understand and rubbish the technologies they don't. Being totally independent and having spent years working with proprietary and open software we believe we can help you understand the pros and cons and make a the right decision when considering open source solutions.

Things we hear that make us laugh:

• Skype can't be used for business - it can and it saves us and many of our clients £'000s on phone calls
• Linux is never going to catch on - it has and it continues to grow
• Open Source software doesn't come with support - it depends, our favourite open source solutions have very effective support programmes, backed by service level agreements.
• Microsoft are evil - not true, they make some fantastic products which we believe are great value for money. There are also some very good alternative solutions which may or may not be right for you, depending on a number of factors.
